Higginsbotham MGM Benefits Group, one of the largest independent insurance, financial and human resources firms in the United States, has acquired the Texas-based Employee Benefit Firm, which serves as an agency for employers and a general management firm for brokers.
The agreement will allow MGM to provide its customers – primarily schools and universities – with additional coverage lines and account services, including commercial property and liability insurance and risk management assistance.
“With the combined strength of our organizations, the schools and universities we serve will have a partner for the entire insurance program, be it for their commercial exposure, their student exposure or the health and well-being of their staff,” said Rusty Reed, chairman and CEO of Higginbotham. “We are proud to join MGM in our pursuit of serving organizations that serve our community.”
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve the lives of our broker partners, group clients and their employees,” said Glenn Turchi, President of MGM. “With Higginbotham, we have found a long-term strategic partner with the same passion and focus on delivering top employee benefit products and providing value with the additional coverage and services we now have.”
Turk will continue to lead the existing MGM team with Leslie Benavides, Director of Marketing and Sales Support, and Megan Garrett, Sales Director.
