Global Insurance Group Resolution Life – which has operations in Bermuda, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and New Zealand – has appointed Simon Woods as the group’s chief financial officer.
A PwCAn HSBC, and UBS alumnus, Woods was head of insurance financing at Goldman Sachs ’investment banking division in London. EY Zurich where he led client services for complex strategic changes and was responsible for the client’s senior relationship throughout insurance.
“Simon’s experience allows him to play an important role in Resolution Life as we continue to grow through M&A (mergers and acquisitions),” said Sir Clive Cowdery, Executive Chairman of Resolution Life.
“He already knows the business well, and I’m looking forward to working with him, as the group helps more global insurers raise capital by providing a safer long-term home for policyholders.”
Reporting to Cowdery, Woods will join the executive committee and be responsible for the financial leadership of Resolution Life, including accounting, control, taxation, investment, fundraising and deployment, debt strategy and management, and treasury services.
