Greg Wilde, managing director of Generation Underwriting, said: “I am delighted to be working with Steven again because he has an excellent relationship with our target brokers and a wealth of underwriting skills not only in Scotland but also in the London market.” A. Robertson MS Amalin.
Wilde added that he has been personally involved in the Scottish market for almost 20 years, launching and growing underwriting operations in the area. Therefore, continuing to build generational underwriting in a market is one of his “top priorities” which he called “many opportunities”.
“Scotland has a rich highly professional broking community but it is fair to say that their needs are not always met. We have seen a decline in the market, a decrease in the level of authority, a tendency to strengthen business through e-trade or call centers, and as a result, broker experience and overall service levels have declined, ”Robertson commented. “The opportunity to join the generation by deploying powerful underwriters in the local regional market could not have been a better time.”
The WF Risk Group’s generation underwriting acquisition is just over six months old and is the second expansion into a new territory by generation. “The overall group will continue to look for opportunities to grow and expand through business, new regions and people investing.”
Willis added that the WF Risk Group has seen strong growth in its underwriting business, tracking 25%. The group has observed a “clear demand” for alternative market solutions, whether for the group’s wholesale or MGA business.
